Now that we are permitted to do so, we are beginning to reopen our church buildings for worship. Due to physical distancing requirements, the number of people who can be accommodated is strictly limited. We are seeking to give priority to those who cannot access our online Sunday services which will continue for the foreseeable future.
We have two midweek services:
There is a short worship service at St Andrew’s, Deans at 11am each Wednesday.
Similarly, there is a short worship service at the Village Kirk, Livingston Village, at 11am each Thursday.
The mid-week worship services will last around 30 minutes and if you would like to come along, please contact our Session Clerk, Mrs Elspeth Robertson, either by leaving a message here or telephoning 07890412871.
Measures necessary to protect us from the corona virus mean that coming to church will be quite different. Singing is not allowed; a face covering must be worn, and physical distancing and hygiene measures must be observed. We also ask that you leave your name and telephone number with the stewards for entry into the temporary register of attendance should they be needed for Test and Protect purposes. Despite all this we can still assure you of a very warm welcome as we worship a God who never changes in surroundings that are important to us.
Everything possible has been done to make coming back into the church buildings as safe as possible. However, if you feel anxious about coming back into our buildings at this time, please do not feel that you are being pressured to return. If you are unsure about coming into the buildings, please do contact the Minister as the Church of Scotland has developed an assessment tool to help individuals decide whether they should be attending their church buildings or participating in church life by other means.
It is especially important that you do not come to church if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are self-isolating or are unwell in any other way.
